Rainbow Devils is the independent, officially recognised LGBTQ+ supporters club of Manchester United Football Club
Rainbow Devils is the officially recognised LGBTQ+ Supporters’ Club of Manchester United.
Rainbow Devils is the independent, officially recognised Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) supporters club of Manchester United. Our mission is to empower and celebrate LGBTQ+ United supporters and our allies and to provide a safe and inclusive space free from all forms of discrimination within football.
The supporters club was established before the end of the 2018-2019 season and a launch event was held at Old Trafford with full backing and participation from United. Membership of the Rainbow Devils has grown considerably over the last three and a half years and now stands at over 750 members.
A full Committee of volunteers is in place managing relationships with key stakeholders, including the Rainbow Devils membership, Manchester United and its Diversity Lead and team, other football club LGBTQ+ groups, the media and our allies. We are also active members of Pride in Football, the network of UK LGBTQ+ fan groups, and are affiliated to Manchester United Supporters Trust.
Much has been achieved since 2019. Despite the intervention of a global pandemic and all that involved, we have held pre/post match social events, participated in Manchester Pride, worked with United to erect a permanent and highly visible banner inside Old Trafford and achieved prominent coverage in the United Review matchday programme.
We are here to promote equality for all in football, for any United supporter who may need help, to grow our community and to strengthen the match-day experience for all LGBTQ+ fans, whether that be at Old Trafford or elsewhere.
