‘One Love’ documentary showcases Manchester United’s LGBTQ+ Supporters’ Club

Rainbow Devils are the focus of a new documentary by Manchester United’s club media channel, MUTV.

The documentary ‘One Love – Rainbow Devils’, which is one episode of a series covering the diverse Manchester United fanbase and its many supporters’ clubs, features a number of members talking about their experiences of being United fans and LGBTQ+. Many of those stories put into context how important it is to make the beautiful game an inclusive one, recounting difficulties many supporters have faced in being able to be their authentic selves whilst supporting the football club in the past.

Their experiences aren’t isolated, but the documentary shows how far we’ve come in promoting equality, creating a space where people can be welcome, true to themselves and supporters of the greatest football club in the world.

We’re delighted that Manchester United have chosen to cover our supporters’ club in this way, in so doing promoting inclusivity and sending a clear message that whatever your sexuality or gender identity, you’re welcome at Manchester United. We’d like to say a huge thank you to the club and the MUTV team who put it together.

On the evening of 16th February when the documentary was aired, Rainbow Devils grew to over 1,500 members, which we’re well chuffed about. You can join Rainbow Devils free here.
