What’s coming up from Rainbow Devils for the 2023/2024 Season

After a fabulous campaign for both the men’s and women’s teams in 2022-2023, we hope you’re looking forward to the beginning of the new season this weekend as much as we are.

As our Premier League opener against Wolves on Monday 14th August approaches, we wanted to give a quick round up of what’s coming down the line from Rainbow Devils this year, things to look out for over the next few months and how to get involved.

Football Pride, 25th August 2023

Football Pride  an event from Football v Homophobia that lifts up LGBTQ+ voices across the game, is returning at Manchester Pride on Friday  August 25th and Rainbow Devils will be there (obviously!).

Bringing together our fabulous LGBTQ+ communities within the world’s most popular sport right here in Manchester, Football Pride will offer opportunities to party, participate and protest.

The main event will be a one-day symposium at Manchester Metropolitan University on Friday 25 August, bookended by get-togethers and networking opportunities on the Thursday and Friday nights.

If you’re around and fancy it, register for a ticket, come along and come and say hi to us. Our committee members Lindsay, Gareth, Sam and James will be there and we’d love to chat to you about the season ahead, your experiences of supporting United and what you’d like to see from our supporters club in the future.

You can find out more about the event here and register for a ticket here.

Manchester Pride Parade, 26th August 2023

We’ve had more registrations for this year’s Manchester Pride Parade from Rainbow Devils members than ever, and have filled our capacity for the Parade for the very first time. We want to show the thousands attending Manchester’s annual Pride festival that football is for everyone – help us make that message loud and proud!

If you’re attending Pride, keep an eye out for us on the Parade. If you’ve registered to join us on the Parade, please check your e-mail for final arrangements and details for the day, which you should have hopefully now received! If not, feel free to get in touch.

All Members’ Meeting, September 2023

There was a fair bit going on last season with a number of pre-match socials, our members’ club ownership survey, speaking up on inappropriate chanting and our Cup Final watch parties.

This is your supporter’s club – it’s run by and for supporters like you. We want to hear about what you want from Rainbow Devils and chat about ideas for future events and activities, merchandise, how we take your views forward to the club and Manchester United Supporters Trust (MUST) and how to get involved. We want t know how we can do the best we can for LGBTQ+ fans – at Old Trafford/LSV and fans watching from the UK and around the world.

We would like to hold an online all members meeting in September, and we’ll be in touch with members over the next few weeks with the details.

If you’re reading this and you’re an LGBTQ+ supporter or an ally who’d like to get involved and show solidarity, plus you’re not yet a member, join us free today. Our membership now stands at over 800 strong and we continue to grow every day.

Pre-match (and other) Socials, Throughout the season

As we did last year, we’ll be planning some pre-match socials near Old Trafford and Leigh Sports Village linked to mens’ and womens’ games this season, as well as some other social events to bring together LGBTQ+ fans and allies.

Further details will be confirmed soon once we’ve got everything sorted, but to keep updated, make sure you join us free as a Rainbow Devils member. This will mean you’re on our mailing list and get a heads up first about events and activities planned.
